Doing their part for charity, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden started off the New Year with a party for the kids from Beyond Shelter.

Making for quite the memorable experience, the group visited Magic Mountain in Valencia - with the former “Simple Life” starlet and her Good Charlotte rocker beau riding the roller coasters and posing for pictures.

As for Beyond Shelter, the agency carries out its mission to combat poverty and homelessness among families with children - helping out through campaigns and training.

In related news, recent tabloid rumors tell that Nicole and Joel may just be getting ready to try and give daughter Harlow a baby brother or sister in the near future.

“Nicole simply told Joel that she wants another baby —right away,” a friend told Star. “He was a little overwhelmed at first, but now he’s with her 100 percent. They’re both thrilled about adding to their family.”

Saying that the couple are doing quite well since the birth of their first child together, the insider adds, “Nicole knows it’s because they’re both so happy with Harlow, and she truly believes another baby will double their commitment.”
