Hayden Panettiere took patients from Los Angeles' Children's Hospital on a shopping spree at the weekend.

The 'Heroes' star - who is the face of fashion company Candie's - accompanied five girls, who are currently being treated at the medical facility for problems including aneurisms, strokes, paralyis of the nerves and spine and sickle cell anemia, on a shopping trip San Gabriel department store Kohl's on Saturday (13.12.08).

Although Hayden tried to give the group fashion advice, the kids had their own opinions on which outfits they wanted to choose with the money they were given.

Ready for another day of work on her hit NBC show, Hayden Panettiere was spotted on the Manhattan Beach, California set of “Heroes” on Monday (November 3).

The 19-year-old toted around her juice drink as an on-set worker kept the young actress covered with an umbrella prior to the day’s filming.

Along with taking care of her onset obligations, Miss Paneittere has been politically active, praising the work of celebrities for raising awareness of tomorrow’s US Presidential election.

“One of the major reasons why young people have come out and done so much to play a part in this election - and who are really getting out there and voting this time around - is because of the celebrity endorsements,” she said.

Just returned from another whale-saving trip to Washington DC, Hayden Panettiere headed out for a little shopping at trendy clothes boutique Rumor in Sherman Oaks on Wednesday (October 29).

While there, the “Heroes” hottie tried on a variety of hats, scarves and outfits, helped by her mother Lesley and younger brother Jansen, who also chose outfits for himself.

Also of note, Hayden was sporting a brand new tattoo, which could partially be made out as “Vivere”, meaning “to live” in Italian, the country of Hayden’s ancestors.

As for her Save the Whales! campaign, Panettiere just recently put out a video asking that her fans sign a Whaleman Foundation petition to outlaw whale fishing and enforce the global whaling moratorium.

According to reports, “She hopes to encourage one million people to sign the petition which she plans to present to the International Whaling Commission at a key meeting next year (09) to decide whether whales should be hunted.”

Early life
Born in Palisades, New York, Panettiere is the daughter of Lesley R. Vogel, a former soap opera actress, and Alan L. "Skip" Panettiere, a fire department lieutenant. She has one younger brother, fellow actor Jansen Panettiere.

Panettiere attended South Orangetown Middle School in New York but following seventh grade, finished her high-school education via home schooling and has postponed higher education in favor of an acting career, although she has expressed an interest in "continuing to learn.
